Passacaglia on a theme by János Kájoni “Kyrie eleison” from Missa Siculorum – for strings
A serial composition, not a passacaglia in the traditional sense, a series of variations, the composition features a string orchestra, some instruments are given solo roles by the composer. The instrumental performers intone with their singing voices Kájoni's melody without text. A kind of Klangfarbenmelodie is created within the possibilities of the string ensemble.
